BUCHAREST

Europe's best secret is out: Bucharest !

Dear guests,

I have already introduced myself and tried to reveal to you my own role in this travel agency. Each country has its own special taste and the tourist senses it better when he gets in touch not only with the main touristic sights, but also with the local flavors, traditions, inhabitants, because, in the end , this is what traveling is all about: to get to know the touristic spots from all points of view. Bucharest , being my birthplace , my goal is to create the real image about this controversial and colorful city by offering you tips and suggestions on what to see and visit, except the main sights, so that you may get the real image of Bucharest.
I know that the image of Romania worldwide is an ex-communist state run by a dictator, full of Romanian gypsies, a country a little bit backward. Almost all the tourist discover while visiting Romania how wrong the image is, especially when starting their visit with Bucharest, Europe's fastest growing city accelerated with 2007 when joining European Union. There are few facts that might help you getting a sketched image:

Bucharest, a 500 years old city and the capital of Romania with 2.1 million inhabitants lies in the southern part with the Black Sea in the eastern part at 225 kms away and the Carpathians in the northern part at 148 kms away, so, it is quit easy to escape from the city.
Known back in the 1900 as the Little Paris of Eastern Europe, now is known as Europe's „ Big Mix” due to the mixture of different architectural styles: near a classical French building, you may see a communist building or a modern iron-glass building. This fact creates not a very positive feeling for some, but others find it unstylish.
With 37 museums, 22 theaters and concert halls, 18 art galleries you will get busy while your visit in Bucharest, and, the ticket fees are pretty cheep : from 2 euros to 10 euros and if you want to get the real spirit visit the local markets full of color and fresh products. Even if we are in the EU, you may still find peasants selling their organic products at cheep prices.
I am still young, just a baby, to supply you with this piece of information, but, I found out from the adults that Bucharest is very famous in Eastern Europe for its nightlife, therefore, I created in this web-site a section about how to enjoy your night and some tips and suggestions about the local restaurants.
Another most important thing you need to know about Bucharest which is another wrong perception about the city, is that Bucharest is crimeless and the image about the stray dogs and the orphan children wondering on the streets is just an image created by the media. If you wish to walk on the streets during the night, you will be surprised the find the streets crowded and buzzing and a lot of police patrols and shops and restaurants still open. For example, if I am out of milk in the middle of the night , my mother is not afraid to go and buy someone even if we live downtown.

But, enough talking , and try this slideshow ( link to our pictures ) for a small sketched about Bucharest and hope to see you soon here!
